Is now useless

I downloaded and used his app a few years ago and liked what I saw and, though I did not use it a lot, it did what it was supposed to do and I enjoyed the selections I found there for reading.
A new version popped up on my updates and now after the update to the "amazing new version," it is totally useless. It is slow coming up and then brings up a ad for what ever free app, covering the entire screen. That ad will not go away for anything, so I cannot use the app at all now. I will just toss it.
